Lasting relief from chronic pain, without relying on pills.
Chronic pain can be debilitating, but you don’t have to live with it. Our team pinpoints the source of your pain and treats it with targeted, minimally invasive therapies — designed to block pain signals, reduce inflammation, and help heal injuries.
Pain care that treats the cause, not just the symptom.
If you’ve been told to “just live with the pain,” come see us for a second opinion. There may be effective options available to help you feel better.
Targeted, not generic
Most pain has a specific source. We use diagnostic injections and imaging to pinpoint it, then design a plan around that exact spot — not a one-size-fits-all medication regimen.
Image-guided precision
Ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance for every procedure means the medication goes exactly where it needs to — making treatments more effective and reducing the number you need.
Long-term relief focus
We measure success in months and years — not days. Treatments like nerve ablation can last 6–12 months, and we use the relief period to address underlying issues with rehab and lifestyle changes.
About Our Pain Management Care
A holistic approach to chronic pain.
Our Interventional Pain Management team takes a holistic approach — addressing both the physical and emotional impact of chronic pain. We listen to your story, thoroughly evaluate your condition, and customize a treatment plan that might include injections, nerve treatments, or regenerative therapies.
Unlike conventional pain management that may rely heavily on medications, interventional pain care uses advanced procedures to block pain signals, reduce inflammation, and help heal injuries. Our goal is long-term relief and improved daily function.
Your comfort and safety are our priority. If you’ve been told to “just live with the pain,” come see us for a second opinion — there may be effective options available to help you feel better.
Interventional Pain Management can address pain from many sources. Here are the most common reasons patients seek our care.
Back & Neck Pain
From herniated discs and spinal stenosis to pinched nerves and degenerative disc disease — including sciatica and arm-tingling neck pain.
Arthritis & Joint Pain
Chronic knee, shoulder, or hip pain from osteoarthritis or joint degeneration — treated with image-guided injections and other therapies.
Nerve Pain (Neuropathic)
Shooting or burning pain from sciatica, peripheral neuropathy, or complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) — blocked or dulled with specialized techniques.
Headaches & Migraines
Severe occipital or cervicogenic headaches relieved with nerve blocks or trigger point injections when traditional migraine treatments fall short.
Spinal Compression Fractures
Painful vertebral fractures from osteoporosis or trauma — stabilized with kyphoplasty for fast pain relief and improved alignment.
Facet Joint Pain
Arthritic pain in the small joints of the spine — diagnosed and treated with medial branch blocks, and longer-term relief via radiofrequency ablation.
Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Pain
Low back or buttock pain from SI joint dysfunction — helped with targeted, image-guided injections.
Muscle & Soft Tissue Pain
Chronic muscle spasms, myofascial pain, tendonitis, or bursitis — treated with trigger point injections or regenerative medicine like PRP.
Treatment Options
Advanced treatments, tailored to your pain.
Depending on your diagnosis, your personalized plan may include one or more of the following procedures.
Spine
Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI)
An injection of powerful anti-inflammatory medication into the epidural space of your spine to relieve nerve pain (sciatica, pinched nerve). Delivering steroid directly where the inflammation is can significantly reduce pain and swelling. Outpatient — same-day discharge.
Precise injections of anesthetic, sometimes combined with steroids, near specific nerves to “turn off” pain signals from that area. A nerve root block for a spinal nerve, or an occipital nerve block for certain headaches — immediate relief, and a diagnostic clue to the exact source.
Uses radio wave-generated heat to disable pain-transmitting nerve fibers. We numb the area, then insert a special needle electrode that heats the targeted nerve, stopping pain signals. Often used for facet joint pain or chronic knee pain — relief lasting 6–12 months or longer.
Specific nerve blocks targeting the tiny nerves that supply the facet joints in your spine. Used to both diagnose facet joint pain and provide relief. If you get good short-term relief from a medial branch block, we may follow up with RFA for longer-term pain control.
An implanted device that sends mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to block pain signals before they reach the brain. Like a “pain pacemaker” for chronic nerve pain or failed back surgery. We first perform a trial with temporary electrodes — if effective, a permanent device can be implanted.
Corticosteroid (cortisone) injections target painful joints like the knee, shoulder, or hip to reduce inflammation. Often provides relief from arthritis or injury-related pain for months. Ultrasound or X-ray guidance ensures precise placement for maximum effectiveness.
For painful vertebral compression fractures, we perform kyphoplasty — a minimally invasive procedure where a balloon is inserted into the collapsed vertebra, then filled with medical cement to restore height and stability. Done through a tiny incision; significant pain relief and improved spine alignment.
Platelet-Rich Plasma injections made from your own blood, concentrated with healing platelets and injected into the affected area — promoting tissue repair. Helpful for chronic tendon injuries or arthritis for patients seeking a more natural treatment option.
Every procedure is performed with the utmost care for your comfort. Most treatments are done with local anesthesia, and mild sedation can be used if needed. We explain the process beforehand so you know what to expect. Your comfort and questions are always our priority.
What to Expect
From first visit to lasting relief.
The first visit
We listen to your story and thoroughly evaluate your condition — reviewing prior treatments, imaging, and the specific pattern of your pain. Together, we identify likely sources and discuss a tailored plan.
The procedure
Most procedures are done in-office with local anesthesia, and mild sedation can be used if needed. Image guidance (ultrasound or fluoroscopy) ensures pinpoint accuracy. You typically go home the same day.
Follow-up & long-term plan
Relief varies by procedure. We use the relief window to focus on rehab and the underlying issue. If one treatment doesn’t give enough benefit, we reassess and explore other options — we won’t stop working with you.
We take great care to keep you comfortable. Most patients find the procedures very tolerable. You’ll receive local anesthesia (numbing medicine) for injections, so you may feel pressure but typically not sharp pain. If you’re anxious or the procedure is more involved, mild sedation can be used. Our doctors and nurses will be with you every step of the way, explaining the process and helping minimize discomfort.
How long will the relief last?
Relief varies by procedure and individual. Some patients experience several months of relief from a single steroid injection. Nerve ablations (RFA) can last 6–12 months or longer, until the nerve regenerates. Spinal cord stimulators provide ongoing relief as long as the device is active. Our goal is to achieve the longest relief possible, and certain treatments can be repeated if pain returns.
Are these treatments safe?
Yes. When performed by trained specialists at OneTreeHealth, interventional pain procedures are safe and effective. We use image guidance to avoid sensitive structures, and our physicians have extensive experience in pain management. Complications are rare, and we’ll discuss any specific concerns with you in advance. Your health and safety are always in expert hands.
Do I need a referral, or can I see a pain specialist directly?
You don’t need a referral — you can call us directly to schedule an appointment. We also welcome referrals from other physicians. In either case, we’ll coordinate closely with your primary care doctor or other providers to ensure seamless, well-integrated care.
What if interventional treatments don’t help my pain?
Our approach is comprehensive, with the goal of finding meaningful, lasting relief. If one treatment doesn’t provide enough benefit, we’ll reassess and explore other options — a different injection, physical therapy, medication adjustments, or, if truly necessary, a surgical referral. We won’t stop working with you. Your improvement is our ultimate goal.
